Charles has over 20 years of experience in the health care field and an extensive background in insurance, managed care, hospital/facility contracting, provider network development, network management, marketing, and mergers and acquisitions.
Charles has spent over a decade successfully handling healthcare mergers and acquisitions transactions in many facets of healthcare, including primary care physician practices, multi-specialty integrated group practices, Management Service Organizations (“MSO”), and ancillary service providers and networks. His oversight includes sourcing deals, negotiation, due diligence, and post transaction management consulting services (“Transition Services”). These Transition Services focused in the areas of practice efficiency improvement, budgetary refinement, network improvement, managed care contract transition/improvement, billing and coding evaluation and improvement, and general management consulting for new ownership.
Prior to this, Charles was one of the founders and the managing member of Diagnostic Management Services, LLC (DMS). DMS was a Radiology Benefits Management (RBM) company contracted for over four years with Neighborhood Health Partnership and United Health Care. While managing the network he was also President of Diagnostic Testing Group, Inc. (DTG), a network of Diagnostic Centers, where he was in charge of overseeing 6 full serviced Diagnostic Centers locations in South Florida and in Brooklyn, New York.
Charles is one of the Founding Members and shareholders of Baroma ACO and focused his efforts in the areas of network development for an ACO whose performance ranks amongst the top in the State of Florida for those organizations in the Medicare Shared Savings Model. His network guidance still plays a major role in the company’s continued expansion and success. Prior to that he held positions as a Physician, Hospital and Ancillary Facility Contracting Representative with Aetna, Inc. as well as with Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of Florida. These positions gave him a unique perspective on developing education programs, retention of the provider networks through transition, e-pay systems, claims adjudication processes and cost savings initiatives to name a few. Charles also spearheaded Medicare & More product steering committee with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida & Health Options, which included the oversight of a contracting initiative for a complete network that included 600 physicians, ancillary providers, hospitals, and hospitals in the region(s) targeted by the plan(s).
Charles has formed many strong relationships in the Florida Market including but not limited to doctors, providers, clinics, ancillary companies, insurance companies, software companies and other health care delivery systems. Through these relationships, he has directed many companies ranging from ancillary providers, pharmacy (closed and retail), pathology labs, clinical labs and HMO’s.
